People also often rent cars, mini vans, and SUVs so that they can get around during their Winter Park, Fraser, or Granby stay. The rental cars make it easy to go grocery shopping, stop by the liquor store, or visit nearby Devil’s Thumb Ranch for spa services.
If you’re planning to visit the area and would like to easily get around, a rental car is the best option. In the summer, spring, and fall, there’s no public transportation available in Fraser, Granby, or Winter Park, and limited taxi service / car service. During ski season (which typically runs from mid-November through mid-March), there’s a shuttle bus service in Winter Park and Fraser, but it has limited runs and accessibility. People often arrive in Winter Park not realizing how limited the bus service is and end up renting a car, mini van, or SUV from us so that they can fully enjoy their vacation.

Please note: The Amtrak California Zephyr train comes through Grand County (stopping in Fraser, Colorado and Granby, Colorado) twice a day, once heading east, and once heading west. Amtrak doesn’t have a train station in Winter Park, Colorado. The closest train station is Fraser, Colorado, which is approximately 5 miles from the base of Winter Park Ski Resort. A private company used to operate the “Winter Park Ski Train,” which conducted daily trips directly to the ski area on weekends, but the ski train is no longer in business.
